Sometimes boredom can spur creativity and discovery. While at an in-laws house I was a bit bored and decided to take a walk around their rural property in hopes of finding something interesting to photograph. There were almost no clouds in the sky and the bright mid-day sun provided plenty of harsh contrast which limited my options for shooting landscape images.
In these situations you have to get creative. I spotted a dry flowering weed growing in the field and knew what I was going to do, use the sun as a back light to silhouette the plant for a black and white image. Lucky for me the top of the weed curved just right to wrap around the sun.
